Continuity

One physician at every visit. Your history carried forward — never re-explained.

Time

60-minute new patient visits. Outside records reviewed before you arrive.

Access

Direct physician communication between visits. Questions reach Dr. Nyange, not a call center.

Prevention

Most cardiac events are preceded by years of measurable risk. ElinMed is built to find it early.

Prevention

Most cardiac events are preceded by years of visible, measurable risk.

Standard cardiology tends to act when symptoms appear — which is often too late to prevent the event itself. Earlier, more precise risk stratification using advanced lipid panels, inflammatory markers, and when appropriate, coronary CT imaging that characterizes plaque composition, represents a meaningful improvement in what a careful cardiologist can offer.

"The patients who fare best are not those who respond most quickly to a crisis — they are those whose risk was understood and managed years before one occurred."

— Dr. Christabel Nyange, MD, MPH, FACC · Founder, ElinMed
80%
of major cardiac events are preventable with appropriate early intervention
50%
of heart attacks occur in patients with cholesterol levels considered "normal" by standard testing
10+
years of detectable cardiovascular risk accumulation before most clinical events
Who Is This For

ElinMed is for patients who want
more from their cardiac care.

Not everyone needs a specialist cardiologist. But for certain patients, the difference between standard care and ElinMed is significant.

🧬
The Prevention-Focused Patient
You're healthy by most measures, but you have a family history, a nagging concern, or a desire to know your actual cardiovascular risk — not just be told your cholesterol is "fine." You want advanced testing and a physician who will interpret it with you.
Advanced biomarker panels, coronary imaging, risk stratification
👩🏾‍⚕️
Women Whose Symptoms Were Dismissed
Heart disease presents differently in women — and the research is clear that women's cardiac symptoms are more frequently overlooked. If you've been told "it's anxiety" or "everything looks normal" but something still feels wrong, this practice takes that seriously.

🏙️
The Busy New York Professional
You manage a demanding life and don't have time for 3-month waitlists, rushed 15-minute appointments, or the frustration of explaining your history to a different doctor every visit. You want a cardiologist on call, in your corner, who knows your file.
Same-week appointments, direct physician access, virtual care
🩺
Managing an Active Cardiac Condition
You're living with hypertension, an arrhythmia, heart failure, or a history of cardiac events, and you want more than a once-a-year check-in. You want a physician who is tracking your trajectory, adjusting your regimen proactively, and reachable when something changes.
Hypertension, AFib, heart failure, ongoing management
🔍
Seeking a Second Opinion
You've received a diagnosis or been recommended a procedure and you want an independent, expert review before proceeding. Dr. Nyange provides thorough second opinions on cardiac diagnoses, test results, medications, and treatment plans.
Second opinions, records review, written summaries
🏥
Preparing for Surgery
Your surgeon has requested cardiac clearance before an elective procedure. ElinMed provides comprehensive preoperative cardiovascular evaluations — including history review, physical exam, EKG, and a formal clearance letter — in a timely, coordinated manner.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do you accept insurance?
ElinMed is a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This allows Dr. Nyange to structure care around clinical need rather than coverage requirements. A detailed superbill is provided after each visit for potential out-of-network reimbursement through your PPO insurer.
How does the hybrid in-person / virtual model work?
ElinMed currently operates as a virtual practice, accepting patients across New York State. In-person visits at the Midtown East flagship open Fall 2026. Once in-person care launches, the model is hybrid — most care stays virtual, and patients come in when a physical exam or EKG is clinically indicated. Same physician, same practice, no new referral needed.
How soon can I get an appointment?
ElinMed offers same-week availability for both virtual and in-person consultations. There are no months-long waitlists. Book directly through the scheduling tool below.
What is the difference between the virtual and in-person new patient visit?
The virtual new patient consultation ($400, 60 minutes) covers a comprehensive history, risk assessment, and care plan without a physical exam. The in-person Comprehensive Cardiovascular Evaluation ($750, 60 minutes) adds a full physical exam, 12-lead EKG, vital signs, same-day EKG interpretation, and a written action plan. For patients with active symptoms, new cardiac findings, or who simply prefer an in-person examination, the in-person visit is recommended.
Does ElinMed specialize in women's heart health?
Yes. Dr. Nyange has a focused interest in women's cardiovascular health, including sex-specific presentations of cardiac symptoms, pregnancy-related conditions (peripartum cardiomyopathy, preeclampsia history), and the documented underdiagnosis of heart disease in women. If your cardiac symptoms have been attributed to anxiety or dismissed without explanation, this practice takes those concerns seriously.
Can ElinMed provide preoperative cardiac clearance?
Yes. ElinMed provides comprehensive preoperative cardiovascular evaluations — currently via virtual consultation, with physical exam and EKG available when in-person opens Fall 2026. A formal clearance letter is provided. Same-week availability.
What happens to my records between visits?
Your records are maintained in a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record (CharmHealth). Dr. Nyange reviews your outside records before new patient visits and has access to your full history at every subsequent appointment. Nothing is lost between visits — that continuity is fundamental to how ElinMed operates.
